My works are an effort in expression of modern life through the medium of traditional art. They take technology, weave it with beauty, drape philosophy in romance to present a whole image of something new and incredible.
Drawing the Line
Derek Mason has been painting for just over 6 years. A self-taught artist, Derek began his work doing brief studies on animals before expressing himself with paint, initially experimenting with watercolors. He's currently in a period of oil paints. His artistic development is presently showcased in a style characterized by it's emotiveness and flexibility in form and color. Derek has a drive bordering on the prolific and not a day goes by where he can't be found plying his chosen trade in his home studio. Derek's first private exhibition in 2016 was a runaway success with over a third of the selected works finding their way into private collections on and off the island. Over the past few years, Derek has also been honoured to provide multiple pieces for charity auctions including Pink October and for the Fine Arts Auction in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.
AI dreams of a future time
Mark Mallia is currently collaborating with Uma, the Universal Machine Artist AI collective entity, to teach Artificial Intelligence the various aspects of art and creativity via a wide variety of artistic projects and mediums. In the AI Abstracts – Test Series, Mark is teaching Uma how abstracts are created, specifically using acrylics as the medium together with a variety of techniques that are characteristic of Mark’s style. This painting is one of the very initial painting used in the training process for Uma – each training example is unique and has been observed and recorded by the AI in a step-by-step fashion. The very first in the test series, the “AI Dreams of a Future Time” has been inspired by the fluidity and undefined character of the future, a future that holds an AI inspired vision but that is still yet unclear to human minds.

Since I was a little girl, art has been a parallel reality that has taken me on a journey through the color spectrum. My art movement ranges from classic to pop art. I work under the pseudonym CU (CryptoUser) as I draw inspiration from new technologies, like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Crypto Currency and the brilliant minds that drive the industry.
