Over 100 startups will be selected to showcase their products and initiatives throughout the event. Startups based in AI, Blockchain, Quantum Tech, Big Data and IoT will each have a small booth at Malta AI & Blockchain Summit surrounded by top investors and mentors, being invited to lavish networking dinners as well as benefitting from online exposure. However the AI Startup pitch is only open to AI startups and the judges’ top ten will make it to the pitch stage during the final leg of the Summit. Meet the JUDGES
Anthony is CEO and Director of Certus Operations Limited. He also sits on the Investment Committee of Certus overseeing group treasury and investment strategy.
During the past ten years, Anthony has been actively involved in investment research & strategy, corporate finance and venture capital.
Anthony started his career as an equity research analyst in Malta before moving to the London to lead the investment research department for a FTSE 250-listed financial derivatives trading brokerage. His analytical research and insightful views on markets were featured on prominent financial media such as Bloomberg, The Financial Times and CityAM. As he progressed in his career, Anthony moved into corporate finance roles, providing professional business valuations for high profile M&A and private equity transactions. Combining his passion for investment, technology, and entrepreneurship, Anthony joined a local venture capital firm, where he developed a proprietary framework for selecting early-stage technology startups. He also a board member of an international oil & gas software company based in Glasgow.
Anthony holds an Executive MBA with Distinction from Sir John Cass Business School in London.
As Umnai’s Chief Executive Officer, Angelo is responsible for leading the company’s commercial, product and technology strategy. Umnai was founded as an innovative AI focused solutions provider that is creating new AI technology that can explain itself and its
decisions while helping to assist people rather than replacing them, with an emphasis on achieving a positive social impact.
Angelo has published over 23 scientific publications in Europe and the US and has over twenty years of experience in various executive positions in technology, entertainment and fintech companies. Angelo has also represented Malta in various international events and one
of his first international achievements was to win a bronze medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in 1995.
As a serial entrepreneur, Angelo was involved in four IPOs and invested in more than 40 successful companies. This long track record was recognised in 2014, when he was awarded with Malta’s Top Entrepreneur of the Year award. Angelo’s profile is a realization of the
mantra he works by ‘To create scaleable, repeatable technology businesses that lead by innovation’.
